"Learning WHY to Give Thanks!"

Thanksgiving Day is just a day off work, or a long weekend, to many ... but to those who know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord it is a reminder that giving thanks to God is a part of every day! Because many do not know the holy God who reveals Himself in the Bible, they fail to grasp the consequences of their sin and therefore think nothing of God's offer of forgiveness and eternal life through faith in Jesus. Thanksgiving Day is the perfect time to share with family and friends the "WHY" of your thanksgiving! It is only by knowing the depth of your sin that you realize the greatness of God's mercy in sending His Son to pay your debt, to take your place on the cross, so that by believing in Him you may escape His coming judgment and wrath. Refusing to talk about sin and judgment leaves people separated from God and without a reason to give thanks! Share the good news with those around you and point them to Jesus Christ, the only Savior, our Lord. Let them know the joy you have in knowing that eternal life is yours because your debt was paid on the cross. Help them to learn "WHY" to give thanks, and then they can truly join you in a day ... a life of thanksgiving!!
